The Magician
Master of the craft and the elements. Belief plus action equals manifestation.
I collect materials like a magpie. Shiny paper and colorful tape call to me. These objects percolate in my studio – sometimes for years – before they demand to be painted. Whenever tools of the trade show up as subject matter in my work, it always feels a bit like a peek behind the curtain: reveling in the mundane behind the magic.
